Needing snow, Summit County ski resorts hold off on opening more terrain

With limited snowfall, ski resorts aren't opening as much terrain as was available around the Thanksgiving holiday last year.

“We're waiting for Ullr to wake up!” said Arapahoe Basin spokeswoman Kimberly Trembearth. The ski and snowboard area is holding off on trail openings this week.

Breckenridge opened some Peak 9 access in time for the holiday, and Copper Mountain plans to have the Super Bee lift turning in East Village, spokesman David Roth said.

Keystone officials are excited to have the A51 terrain park open on Thanksgiving Day, spokeswoman Justine Spence said.
