The Misadventures of the Novice Fly Fisherman
Sunday, November 20, 2011 19:48

This will be my first entry in a blog I wanted to start about my entry into the world of fly fishing.  I started in the summer of 2010 after returning from Iraq.  I needed a new hobby and as luck would have it I took my lovely wife fishing at the Catamount Reservoirs.  I bet we had been sitting there for two hours and not even a bite.  This older gentle man came up beside me and within two casts he had caught a small cut throat.  This is the first time I have ever saw a Trout in person, not to mention the first time I have ever watched a person fly fish.  From that point on I can say the hook was set.

My Intentions with this blog is to document my adventures (or misadventures if I do say so myself) weekly.  I will bring back pictures, stream conditions and what flies I used to succeed or fail.  On the other two weekends I will go over some of the flies I have found effective and some lessons learned that can be applied to my next trip.  In the next few weeks I hope to generate some interesting discussion and advice that we all can benefit from.  Until next time.....Tight Lines!
