Nearly 200 runners showed up Saturday morning at Memorial Park for the Turkey Trot Predict 5K.

This unique race format asked runners to predict their times for the 3.1-mile race when they registered. Rachel Meyers, while not among the top finishers, made the closest prediction -- coming within 1.6 seconds -- to win a turkey.

Josiah Valenzuela was the first to finish in 17:03. He was followed by Peter Maksimow (17:09) and Simon Gutierrez (17:10).

Runners are not allowed to wear timing devices during the race and the clock is covered after the final runners begins. The race began in 1978 and always is run on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
