Resort bookings continue to climb at western ski resorts |

Lodging reservations at western U.S. ski resorts this season continues to climb, supporting hopes that the resort industry will maintain an upward trend through the 2011-12 season.
At the end of October, on-the-books occupancy through April was up 10.8 percent compared to the same time last year, according to a monthly report from Denver’s Mountain Travel Research Program (MTRiP), which surveys 265 property management companies in 15 mountain resort communities in four states. The report shows that the average daily rate climbed 3.5 percent, meaning vacationers may be paying more money this season.
While occupany declined in October, reservations for ski season lodging booked in October climbed 12.5 percent compared to the same month last year.
