Copper opens Friday with free movie
Thursday, November 03, 2011 08:04

Copper Mountain will open for the 2011-12 season of skiing and riding on Friday with the lifts running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Get the skinnny on season passes and multiday passes. The price of a single-day ticket will be revealed Friday. A two-day "value season" lift ticket for adults is $140, so expect a single-day ticket Friday to run about $80, maybe $85.  But, who knows?  Copper may surprise us with a great deal!

The American Eagle lift will take you to Rhapsody and Main Vein.  If snowmaking is good Thursday night the Exhilerator lift and Ptarmigan trail will open.

KSMT will broadcast live from Copper from noon to 2 p.m. There'll be happy hour specials at Jack's from 3 to 6 p.m. and DJ Landry from 4 to 6 p.m.

Then "The Art of Flight," a snowboarding movie produced by Red Bull Media House in association with Brain Farm Digital Cinema will be shown for FREE at 6 p.m. on a 7-by-12-foot high-def screen in the Bighorn Ballroom in the Village.

Keystone Ski Resort also opens Friday - with fresh snow!

PHOTO:  Copper got "just a tad" of snow on Wednesday, which should be there waiting for you Friday!

When are the other Colorado ski areas opening?  Check out this list!
