The 8th annual Great Pixie Repack Ride is Sunday.
And unless we get a heatwave in the next couple of days, there's bound to be some ice on the course and undoutably some serious carnage!
Interested?
Meet at 1pm at Ground Up Designs; 1516 Manitou Blvd. in Colorado Springs.
The Pixie Race Team expects to begin shuttling racers to the start of the course at about 2 p.m. and the mayhem to begin by 3:30.
Need some pixie dust?
There'll be a Pixie Build Party at Ground Up on Saturday night. Parts will be available. Just show up with your bike.
Do you bruise easily?
Expect a treacherous course. Organizers advise: "Wear lots of pads!"
Are you a bleeder?
This is a 5-mile course dropping 1,300 feet and should take about 15 minutes to complete.
Here's the Pixie Racer warning: "We'll help get you to the top and if misfortune hits, to the hospital, but that's it...you take responsibility for your medical bills as with anything you are foolish enough to do."
First-timers are heavily, emphatically, oh-so-thoroughly DISCOURAGED from racing!
Spectators and volunteers are appreciated and welcome to help out in any way possible.
If you didn't click on the link above, read more about the Pixie Repack in this 2008 Gazette story.
