A fast-moving storm is expected to dump snow in the high country Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. And it'll probably bring a bit of the white stuff to us down here on the Front Range, too. If you're in northern or eastern El Paso County or up in Teller County, you can expect a bit more than we'll have at the office in downtown Colorado Springs - like, 4 to 8 inches more. If you decide to head up to ski, give yourself plenty of travel time - any way you go you're likely to hit cold, cold temps with winds up to 40 mph creating blizzard conditions and snow drifts. The weather should improve Thursday and Friday -- in time for Opening Day at Keystone Ski Resort and Copper Mountain! Independence Pass was closed Tuesday afternoon due to foul weather. And it may stay closed until spring! Curious when the rest of the ski areas will open for the 2011-12 season? Check here for Colorado ski areas' opening days! |
