BOULDER — Boulder County authorities rescued a man and his teenage daughter after they got stranded while climbing Castle Rock.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says 54-year-old Gary Hansen and his 17-year-old daughter Kate of Aurora were stranded on a ledge by darkness Monday night.

The sheriff's office says the climbers were not familiar with the area and failed to allow enough time for the climb.
