Imagine being able to get an instant, professional grade photo of your ski day - like the one above taken by Gazette photographer Christian Murdock at Vail - sent to your phone. That's one of the new features unveiled today by Vail Resorts, in the next generation of its Epic Mix ski pass feature.
You may recall we wrote about the Epic Mix last year.
Every ski pass has a chip in it, which last year allowed skiers to track their vertical runs, with scanners at every ski lift at Vail's mountains here (Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone.)
This year, if an on-mountain photographer snaps a picture of your crazy jump or gnarly face-plant, they can scan your pass and send you a free copy. Higher-rez photos will be available for purchase.
Read more from Vail Resorts here. The company also announced it is doing away with paper tickets, so window purchasers will get a card that can be scanned like season passes.
I hate to say it, but even though it's 90-something degrees today, I'm getting stoked for ski season!
