Today's the day!
The champion of the inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge will ride around downtown Denver to the cheers of the crowd.
Want to join in the fun? You'd better pack up and going!
The stage begins at 10:45 a.m. in Golden. It's a great place to watch the riders: they'll head out of town and then make a loop back, passing through a second time before heading to Lookout Mountain and then returning again after the descent before shooting down toward Denver.
Golden has been gearing up for the race for weeks and you can expect a daylong party.
Take a bike and be prepared to ride if you want to see the pro cyclists tackle Lookout Mountain, the only climb in today's stage. This isn't a technical climb but it could be a killer-fast descent.
If crowds aren't your thing, there are long stretches of roadway to cheer the riders between Golden and Denver.
And you know there'll be quite the party at the finish: 6 laps of a 5-mile circuit of downtown Denver, surely building in excitement with each turn before the finish on Broadway next to the Capitol.
Predicted timeline:
Start 10:45 a.m. in Golden
Start climb up Lookout Mountain about 11:20-11:25 a.m.
Sprint on Colfax about 12:15-12:30 p.m.
Begins laps in downtown Denver around Civic Center Park about 12:25-12:45 p.m.
Finish about 1:20-1:40 p.m.
