Waxing down my skis for some July 4 weekend skiing

That's the lovely Mrs. Rappold waxing my skis for me in the hot June sun yesterday.
A photographer and I will be heading up to A-Basin Friday for a story on the bizarre spectacle of July 4 weekend skiing, the first time in 14 years the Summit County ski area has been open so late.
We can thank a heavy snow year that has left them with a 40-inch base as July enters.
(Though from the looks of today's webcams, it would be tough to stay open much longer:
