(AP) — A federal jury is hearing a lawsuit over a failed attempt to engineer a comeback for a ski train from Denver to Winter Park Ski Area.
Iowa Pacific Holdings contends it lost more than $1 million when Amtrak broke a promise to supply a crew so it could revive the train in 2009.
Amtrak says Iowa Pacific never got the proper insurance coverage. Iowa Pacific contends Amtrak decided late to raise how much coverage was required.

Amtrak executives testified Wednesday that Amtrak had concerns about the train Iowa Pacific would use. More testimony is ahead.
Iowa Pacific was trying to revive a service once offered by the Anschutz Corp., which had an agreement with track owner Union Pacific to run the train. Skiers could take the morning train to the slopes and then ride back to Denver when the lifts had closed.
Amtrak has rights to operate on Union Pacific's track.
