Two adults and a juvenile were cited for climbing without gear Sunday after they were rescued from a rock face in the Garden of the Gods.
The climbers were about 400 feet up a rock face in the Briar Patch, which is near the Kissing Camels formation of the park, the Colorado Springs Fire Department reported.
It took crews several hours to bring down the climbers safely. No one was injured, according to Sunny Smaldino, fire department spokeswoman.
The rescue comes less than a week after two men were rescued after becoming stranded 300 feet up the Kissing Camels formation. They were issued $150 tickets for climbing without gear.
Climbers must fill out a free registration form at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center before climbing in the park or in Red Rock Canyon Open Space, just south of the park across Highway 24. Climbers 17 and younger must have a parent's or legal guardian's signature.
Climbing equipment is required. Climbers must register at the Visitor Center annually.
