Aspen Mountain reopening for Memorial weekend (& maybe beyond)

alt

They just couldn't ignore all the fresh powder.

Aspen Mountain will reopen for Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, for the first time since 1995  - and will remain open on weekends as long as the snow holds, Aspen Skiing Co. announced Thursday.

Aspen Mountain has a 71-inch base and powder from recent storms.

Arapahoe Basin already announced that it will remain open DAILY through June 5 and then have a Summer Season, running lifts Fridays-Sundays on June 10-12 and June 17-19.

And A-Basin officials may keep the lifts running a few additional weekends if the snow holds.

Anyone up for skiing on July 4?? (That's A-Basin in the photo above. Just add grilling & Old Glory & sparklers.)

Aspen Mountain will open 25 runs and 136 acres of mostly intermediate terrain served by the Ajax Express lift.

You can use your Aspen season pass.

Single-day lift tickets are $32 (ages 18-69), $25 (ages 70 and older or 13-17), and $15 (ages 12 and younger).

A-Basin is honoring season pass holders,  including those who buy a 2011-12 pass.
