Skier rescued from avalanche near Aspen

A 25-year-old skier from the Aspen area broke his leg in an avalanche in Pitkin County just before noon Thursday.
His name has not been released. The Sheriff's Department said he was skiing at the M&M Chutes near Express Creek and Taylor Pass.
A group of skiers had gone to the area by snowmobile.
The injured skier was airlifted from the area and taken to Aspen Valley Hospital at about 2:30 p.m.
