Vail Resorts reduces season pass prices by $20

SUMMIT DAILY NEWS

Vail Resorts announced Thursday it's reducing the prices on 2011-12 season passes as part of a special offer.

The ski company is dropping prices by $20 for adults and $10 for children, teens and seniors on its Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic 7-Day, Summit Value Pass and Tahoe Value Pass beginning today through May 8.

Vail Resorts spokeswoman Kelly Ladyga said the company hasn't previously run an offer that drops the initial prices of season passes.

“We're always looking for ways to provide more value to our guests and better engagement with our resorts,” Ladyga said. “Coming off a record-breaking snow year, we want to continue the excitement into the next season.”

When asked whether the price decrease means the company isn't selling as many season passes as anticipated, Ladyga said she couldn't specifically comment on business goals and revenues.
