Boarder's crash into tree well caught on helmet cam

One minute a snowboarder was on a California ski slope.

The next minute, he was buried alive.

And it was all recorded by his helmet cam, reports KABC-TV in Los Angeles.

James Drummond was snowboarding at Mt. Shasta Ski Park last week.

He was videotaping some friends with a camera mounted on his helmet when he suddenly lost his balance and fell head first into a tree well.

Drummond was trapped upside down beneath six feet of snow.  His camera continued to capture footage.

His hands were pinned next to his chest, but luckily Drummond was able to reach his phone.

It took him 20 minutes before he was able to make a frantic phone call to his wife.

Drummond was able to give the ski patrol a description of his location.  An hour after his fall, rescue crews pulled him to safety.

And Drummond rode down the mountain.
