22-year-old skier unconscious after colliding with a tree at Eldora

A 22-year-old woman is being treated for a head injury after she hit a tree skiing at Eldora Mountain Resort this afternoon.

The woman was skiing on Hot Dog Ally, an intermediate run, when she accidently went off the trail and into the trees, according to Sgt. Mike Dimond of the Boulder County Sheriff's office.

The woman is unconscious and being treated on scene. Crews are preparing to take her to Boulder County Hospital.

The woman's name was not immediately available and it is not known whether she was wearing a helmet.
