Steamboat ski prices up slightly for next season

STEAMBOAT PILOT & TODAY

The cost for a season pass to Steamboat Ski Area next winter is increasing by $30 for adults. The increases are less — from $10 to $20 — for teens and children.

Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. released the 2011-12 season pass prices Wednesday afternoon. As is typical, the best prices are reserved for those who buy their passes — or provide a $99 down payment — by June 1.

Season passes reserved by June 1 will cost $929 for adults ages 18 to 69; $509 for teens; $289 for children ages 6 to 12; $389 for seniors ages 70 and older; $689 for full-time college students; and $30 for children ages 5 and younger. A $75 option to add unlimited days at Winter Park Resort is available for all pass buyers.

Parents who buy a full season pass for themselves will get one free season pass for a child 12 years old and younger. The Kids Ski Free deal is available regardless of when the season pass is purchased.
