It's been a while since we had any fresh snow to speak of in ski country, but that's about to change. The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the southern mountains, a winter weather advisory for the central and southern mountains (including Summit County) and a winter storm warning for northwest Colorado.
The snow is expected to fall tonight through midnight Thursday.
Snowfall predictions range from 8 to 16 inches in the San Juans and northwest Colorado and 6 to 12 in the central mountains.
Sick day Friday anyone?
Just remember, if you're heading to Monarch or Crested Butte or points west, don't take U.S. Highway 50. That road will probably remain closed.
CORRECTION: The Colorado Department of Transportation says the goal is to have the highway open by the weekend. But check before you go, because it's a long detour up to Hartsel...
