MEN’S SKIER X FINALS

Gold: John Teller, Mammoth Lakes, Calif.

Silver: Chris Del Bosco, Vail

Bronze: Casey Puckett, Aspen

In state: No others

Noteworthy: Teller came from behind to top Del Bosco by half of a ski, 0.03 of a second

Teller’s take: “I was just trying to work on staying really smooth and getting a good start. … I was able to make the pass, and I wasn’t sure if I made it stick. I got in front, then I was hoping I’d stay up there, and I was able to keep it all the way to the finish.”

 

WOMEN’S SKIER X FINALS

Gold: Kelsey Serwa, Kelowna, British Columbia (pictured above, on the bottom)

Silver: Ophelie David, Alpe d'Huez, France (pictured above, in the middle)

Bronze: Fanny Smith, Villars-Gyron, Switzerland (pictured above, on the top)

In state: None

Noteworthy: Serwa survived a finish-line pileup, ending David’s four-win streak

Serwa’s take: “I knew if I sent it off the jump, I would cross the finish line on my back. I went for it, and I am stoked to take away the gold medal.”

 

MONO SKIER X FINALS

Gold: Josh Dueck, Vernon, British Columbia

Silver: Brandon Adam, Sandpoint, Idaho

Bronze: Sean Rose, St. Neots, England

In state: Scotty Meyer, Frisco, fourth

Noteworthy: Dueck remained upright, avoiding a near wipeout at the starting gate

Dueck’s take: “It’s pretty good. It’s the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Just the community of people that’s around here, it’s like a big, old family. They kept my equipment in order and made it real easy for me to do what I love to do.”

 

MEN’S SNOWBOARD SLOPESTYLE FINALS

Gold: Sebastien Toutant, Montreal

Silver: Mark McMorris, Regina, Saskatchewan

Bronze: Tyler Flanagan, Mammoth Lakes, Calif.

In state: Eric Willett, Breckenridge, eighth

Noteworthy: Toutant closed with back-to-back 1,080s for a win in his Winter X debut

Toutant’s take: “The first run, the sun showed up, and then I was so stoked. I was not too nervous. I was concentrating on my run, and then I put it down.”

 

WOMEN’S SNOWBOARD SLOPESTYLE FINALS

Gold: Enni Rukajarvi, Kuusamo, Finland

Silver: Jenny Jones, Bristol, England

Bronze: Jamie Anderson, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

In state: None

Noteworthy: Rukajarvi closed with a backside 540 and a cab 720 over the money booter

Rukajarvi’s take: “I just wanted to land my run. I am so surprised. It is hard to believe I beat those girls because they are so good.”

 

SNOWMOBILE SNOCROSS FINALS

Gold: Tucker Hibbert, Pelican Rapids, Minn.

Silver: Ross Martin, Kansasville, Wis.

Bronze: Robbie Malinoski, Humboldt, Saskatchewan

In state: None

Noteworthy: Hibbert took the lead on the second lap, cruising to his fifth straight win

Hibbert’s take: “The snow here at Aspen is so clean … it’s challenging for vision because if you get flat light, you can’t see the bumps as good. I tried to just stay focused the whole time and keep pushing so I didn’t make any mistakes.”

 

SNOWMOBILE BEST TRICK FINALS

Gold: Daniel Bodin, Malung, Sweden

Silver: Caleb Moore, Krum, Texas

Bronze: Heath Frisby, Middleton, Idaho

In state: None

Noteworthy: Bodin threw a double grab backflip to become a two-time winner in Aspen

Bodin’s take: “That is the biggest one I have ever done. I have done it before, but I have never landed it on snow. I just had to do it.”

 

ADAPTIVE SNOWMOBILE SNOCROSS FINALS

Gold: Mike Schultz, Pillager, Minn.

Silver: Jeff Tweet, Thief River Falls, Minn.

Bronze: Jim Wazny, Merrill, Mich.

In state: None

Noteworthy: Schultz prevailed by 42 seconds for his second straight Winter X victory

Schultz’s take: “I love it. The race is so fun. I am having a blast being out here again. I love the feeling I get when I get out and do what I love to do.”
