WINTER PARK — An autopsy has confirmed that a snowboarder who went missing on Berthoud Pass died after being caught in an avalanche.

Twenty-six-year-old Jeffrey Miller disappeared Monday after a small snow side let loose while he was snowboarding with a friend. His body was found Wednesday by search and rescue workers and volunteers.

Grand County Coroner Brenda Bock said Thursday that Miller died after being trapped in an avalanche.
