STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A Florida couple was taken to the hospital after being involved in separate accidents Wednesday at Steamboat Ski Area.

The wife was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening after she skied into a parked snowmobile that was helping move her husband, who had injured his knee while skiing.

Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. spokesman Mike Lane said the wife skied into the snowmobile near the Sundial trail. The snowmobile had been used to pull a ski patroller up an incline while he held onto a toboggan carrying the husband. The injured husband and ski patroller then continued down the mountain while the snowmobile waited for the wife.
