From the "I can't believe he gets paid to do this" category:
Christian sent this sweet picture from Crested Butte Mountain Resort, where he and Dave are working on a story on the ski area's 50th anniversary:
Those bluebird skies won't last long. A storm is barreling toward Colorado, with the potential for frigid weather, blasting winds and a foot of snow in many mountain locations from Saturday night through Monday.
After a dry early season, t appears the Front Range could get in on the action, too. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm for the region, predicting 4 to 8 inches in northern El Paso County and points north and 4 to 12 in Teller County, from mid-day Sunday through Monday. Here in town, there could be 2 to 4 inches.
With the snow, expect and end to the balmy weather we've been enjoying. Forecasters call for a high of 11 degrees Monday here.
If the New Year's storm didn't convince you to change those bald tires, perhaps this report will.....
For skiers, check one of my favorite sites, www.coloradopowderforecast.com, for where you might want to head this weekend. Sunday and Monday definitely seem like the best days.
And watch for a story on that site's growing popularity, and how a weatherman and skier made it so, in next week's Out There section.
Have a safe and snowy weekend!
