Free ski, snowboard park opens!

Crews from Winter Park Ski Resort are getting the Ruby Hill Rail Yard ski and snowboard area ready for this weekend!

This will be the Denver ski park's fourth season.

Ruby Hill Rail Yard is at Platte River Drive and Jewell Avenue.

The park opens for the season at noon Saturday.  It'll be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. through the end of February, weather permitting.

Christy Sports will provide free ski and snowboard rentals starting Jan. 14, on Fridays from 3 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for kids ages 8 – 17.

Equipment rental requires a release and waiver completed by a parent.  Forms will be kept on file at Ruby Hill for the season, so only one release needs to be completed by each participant.

Ruby Hill Rail Yard is made possible by Winter Park Resort, Denver Parks and Recreation, Christy Sports, Johnson Controls, Denver Water, Choose Outdoors, The North Face and S.O.S.

(I think S.O.S. refers to Save Our Snow Foundation.)
