Feeling the ski bug but didn't get a pass? No worries. This week marks the beginning of Ski Free Colorado, my favorite lift-ticket promotion.
Buy 10 gallons of gas at a Shell station and get a voucher for a buy one-get one free coupon at Monarch, Copper Mountain, Winter Park, Crested Butte or Loveland. Bring the voucher and receipt to the ticket window and buy one full-price ticket and get one free. For smaller mountains like Monarch, you can split the cost and ski for a day for like 26 bucks.
The promotion runs Jan. 3 to April 17. For details and a list of Shell stations go here.
For me, the only hard part is getting my gas gauge empty enough that I can actually fit 10 gallons of gas in my Civic.
