If you've always wanted to try skiing or snowboarding - or hope to get a loved one hooked on the sport - now may be the time.
Colorado ski areas are offering specials in January to new riders.
Here's an example: Arapahoe Basin is holding Super Sundays. Each Sunday this month first-time skiers or snowboarders can get a half-day lesson, access to the beginner lift, and rental equipment for $70.
