Dwight Yoakam will rock Ford Park in Vail tonight at 7 as part of the 2010 Snow Daze fun.
Take off early and catch The Harters at 5 p.m. and Edwin McCain at 6 p.m., then rock with Yoakam, catch a few winks and ski what some are predicting as at least A FOOT of powder Saturday.
Stay through the weekend and catch Weezer on Sunday night!
Next door, dozens of people who helped develop and run Beaver Creek Ski Resort when it opened 30 years ago, will get together this weekend to share photos, stories and memories.
Vail Associates opened the resort after pushing through opposition from environmentalists and a U.S. Forest Service permitting process.
The ski area had six lifts when it launched. Today, Beaver Creek has 17 lifts, 149 trails, four terrain parks and a halfpipe on more than 1,800 acres.
