Eldora Mountain Resort opens for season

Boulder County's only ski area, Eldora Mountain Resort, opened this morning with a 24-inch base of packed powder, three lifts, a magic carpet and 15 kilometers of Nordic trails.
Eldora often opens the Friday before Thanksgiving, and Mother Nature made that much easier this year.
"Rarely do we miss an opening day, because of our ability to make snow," said Eldora spokesman Rob Linde. "This year the bonus was the natural snow and the cold temperatures."
The area received 16 inches of snow in a little over 24 hours, on Monday and Tuesday, Linde said. And thanks to the consistent cold weather recently, they've been making snow for the past two weeks solid.
