Winter Park opens 71st season in style

Buoyed by great early-season conditions, Winter Park opened its 71st season Wednesday.
Top-to-bottom terrain on Winter Park Mountain already was open with Mary Jane expected to open Saturday. Snowfall totals included 13 inches in the past72 hours and 10 inches in the past 48 hours.

Four lifts were in service, taking riders to eight trails and 53 acres.
Conditions as of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday: Powder to packed powder conditions on Winter Park Mountain with a 3- inch mid-mountain base and a 37-inch base at the summit.
