Broncos star Sharpe to speak at cycling announcement

Event organizers for the Quiznos Pro Challenge will officially announce the stages, host cities and race format for the 2011 international pro-cycling competition at a press conference held at the State Capitol at 10:45 a.m. Thursday.
Representatives from the 11 confirmed cities will be onsite to speak about their excitement for the inaugural Quiznos Pro Challenge event and to host international sports fans and the world’s top professional cyclists. Guest speakers include Shannon Sharpe (former Denver Bronco and avid cyclist), and professional cyclists Tom Danielson, Tim Duggan and Rory Sutherland.
Taking place from August 22-28, 2011, the Quiznos Pro Challenge is expected to become one of the most significant international pro-cycling events worldwide, created to reinvigorate the legacy of the Colorado-based Coors International Bicycle Classic which took place from 1979 until 1988.
