CrossFit/USA Weightlifting Open will be intense

Nearly 200 athletes are scheduled to compete in the inaugural CrossFit/USA Weightlifting Open starting Friday at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs.
The event will join weightlifting – one of the older Olympic sports – with CrossFit – one of the more popular strength and conditioning programs in the nation that combines weightlifting, sprinting and gymnastics.
Competition will be at the indoor tennis courts on the grounds of the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, 3225 Broadmoor Valley Road. The tentative competition schedule is as follows:
