Hey all I just wanted to share with you a very quick glance of a time lapse video I shot of Pikes Peak from Garden Of The Gods! You will see parts of these clips and much more time lapse soon to come in fishing videos/shows. This is only my second time shooting time lapse so there is a ton of room for improvement, but I like what the clouds are doing over the Peak. There are two separate shots

Hiked Mt. Herman on Wednesday and got to watch the Thunderbird performance over the USAFA. It was really unusual to see the jets flying below us.

Pike, San Isabel national forests to ban all campfires

There's bad news for campers who hoped to toast marshmallows over the July 4 holiday weekend.
The U.S. Forest Service plans to move to Stage 2 fire restrictions for Pike and San Isabel national forests Thursday morning, prohibiting all campfires. Stage 1 restrictions have been in place for three weeks, limiting fires to rings in developed campgrounds.
The upgrade is due to bone-dry conditions and a lack of rain, said Ralph Bellah, fire prevention officer for the forests.
"The conditions have not done any better since the last moisture situation several weeks ago. The fuels are still getting drier," Bellah said.
The restrictions take effect at 8 a.m. Thursday. Also prohibited are charcoal grilling, outdoor cigarette smoking and using an off-highway-vehicle without a spark arresting device. Fireworks are always prohibited in the national forests.
The restrictions will be in effect everywhere in the two forests except Lake County, where lingering snow means the fire danger is not as extreme.
Bellah said extra firefighting resources are on-hand in the event of a wildfire, and officials will be patrolling over the weekend for illegal fires.
"There’s been a lot of violators. We’re going to beef up our patrols and there will be tickets written," he said.
Fire restrictions are also in place on U.S. Bureau of Land Management land in the region. Many counties have also prohibited open burning.
While Stage 1 restrictions occur periodically, the last time the Pike/San Isabel forests had a complete ban was 2006.
