Hey all I just wanted to share with you a very quick glance of a time lapse video I shot of Pikes Peak from Garden Of The Gods! You will see parts of these clips and much more time lapse soon to come in fishing videos/shows. Hiked Mt. Herman on Wednesday and got to watch the Thunderbird performance over the USAFA. It was really unusual to see the jets flying below us.

Delayed campground openings in Pike/San Isabel national forests

Memorial Day weekend is typically the kickoff of summer, when campgrounds are open, the weather has warmed and you can get into the high country without a snowmobile or snowshoes.
Not this year.
The U.S. Forest Service announced today that some campgrounds in the Leadville area won't be open in time, because of heavy snow. Plowing crews have been unable to punch through to Turquoise Lake, so the campground and picnic area there won't open until June 10. Same goes for the Halfmoon East and West campgrounds on the southern flanks of Mount Massive.
Some will be opened. The agency says: Whitestar and Lakeview Campgrounds at Twin Lakes will be open for the Memorial Day Weekend on a reservation basis. Twin Peaks and Parry Peaks Campgrounds will be open on a first-come, first-served basis.
I would expect to hear about more delayed openings as this wet, cold and snowy spring goes on in the mountains.
